£10.52 per hour
Working 8 hours every Saturday (additional hours are available in all school holidays and occasionally term time mid-week).

The role

Do you have a NVQ 2 or equivalent in Childcare and Education? We are looking for Early Years Workers to join Bucks Activity Project and help our youngest children and young people flourish under your support.


Action for Children run the local service Bucks Activity Project, providing county-wide play and leisure activities for children and young people with disabilities and learning needs, aged 0-19.

We build positive relationships with families and work with professionals to ensure we support each child to acquire the best outcomes. Our services take place in different parts of Buckinghamshire to ensure we meet the needs of all the children and young people, so you may be working in a venue based activity one week and a community based activity the next!

As a Children's Services Worker, you will work as part of team working with children and young people aged 0-19 years with additional learning needs & disabilities, with a focus on working with our early years children 0-8 years following the Early Years Foundation Stage. You will be promoting their learning and development, and wellbeing as they participate in our Ofsted registered sessions. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who is looking to further their career working with our youngest disabled children to support them to get fully immersed with activities and support their learning and emotional needs.

You will make a difference by:

-Providing a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care, working as part of a team to provide an enabling environment and to build strong parent partnerships to enable all children's needs to be met.
-Effectively delivering the EYFS ensuring that the individual needs and interest of children in the setting are met (in conjunction with other team members).
-Keeping records of children's development and learning journeys and share with parents, carers and other key adults in the child's life.
-Ensuring the provision of a high-quality environment to meet the needs of individual children having an awareness of any disabilities, family cultures and medical histories.
-Carrying out personal care and administering medication (Training provided). 

You will you need:

--Level 2 or above in Early Years and Childcare qualification (NNEB, CACHE, NVQ Level 2 or above in Childcare and Education).
-Knowledge of disabilities/additional needs (desirable).
-Good understanding of the EYFS. 
-The ability to work safely with children.
-A positive attitude and desire to give the best care to children and young people.
-Good communication and interpersonal skills.
-Good observational skills.
-Willingness to travel to local services and group activities across Buckinghamshire.
-Ability to attend occasional training, potentially out of work hours.
