Salary:  Circa £35,000 depending on experience

Location : Watford 

Hours: Full -Time Permanent  35 per week

The role:

Action for Children is looking for a Voluntary Income Processing Manager to lead and motivate the Voluntary Income Processing team through a change programme following the organisational redesign of Finance after the OEE consultancy workstream and subsequent decentralisation of Finance processes. The successful applicant will ensure that voluntary income is processed by the team in a timely and accurate manor, ensuring the team plays its part in delivering a fantastic supporter experience and that internal financial and budget deadlines are strictly adhered to by delivering against SLAs.

Responsibilities: 

  • Lead the end-to-end voluntary income transactions processing team following an organisational redesign of the Finance team and subsequent decentralisation.
  • Role model the expected standards of performance and delivery within the Supporter Experience team, and apply these standards to the leadership of the voluntary income processing team, utilsing Action for Children's policies and procedures (and best practice) to deliver against priorities and workstreams.
  • Ensure all SLAs are fit for purpose and instill a performance culture where the team feel accountable for the difference they can make. Communicate performance against SLAs to the wider Fundraising and Supporter Experience teams efficiently and effectively
  • Ensure workload is managed across the team to ensure all giros, cash, cheque, online, BACS and single payment income are processed and posted to the CRM system within the necessary timeframe.
  • Ensure all income from payment platforms (such as Just Giving, Paypal, Virgin Money Giving) is analysed and reported on accurately by the team, and that the income is reflected in the CRM system.
  • Ensure all gift adjustments are carried out by the team accurately and on time.
  • Proactively manage relationships with Fundraising teams to ensure swift transfer of information, query management and escalation processes are adhered to.

 Skills & Attributes required:

  • Degree or equivalent
  • Use and having strong knowledge of tools such as Crystal Reports, Microsoft Access, Excel and BBDM (direct marketing segmentation tool).
  • Strong knowledge of CRMs (Razor's Edge, Salesforce)
  • Strong knowledge and experience of income processing.
  • Strong Knowledge of processing, committing and acknowledging income.
  • Multiple years' experience working within senior income processing roles.
  • Strong understanding of GDPR and Gift Aid and ability to champion compliance across the division.
  • Strong skills in utilizing, maintaining and applying office, electronic and manual income systems.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong inter-personal and presentation skills.
  • An understanding of charity legislation, best practice guidelines and other regulatory requirements to charitable fundraising activity.

The post-holder will be subject to a DBS check.
