Role: Residential Support Worker
Circa Salary: £24,000 per annum (pro-rata)
(Salary range is £23,151.50 to £28,000 according to qualifications and experience)
Location: Newcastle-under-Lyme
Contract/Hours: Permanent – Part Time 16 hours a week - (We are looking for candidates able to work a flexible 16 hours a week, these hours are completed generally over weekends and during school holidays, this will mean some weeks could be more one week and less another due to the shift pattern).

Our Residential Support Worker guides a dedicated team through shifts with expertise and empathy. Their proactive approach to risk management, safeguards our young people's wellbeing allowing us to deliver the highest quality of care. About the service
Chestnut Lodge is a 5 bed short breaks children's home, providing short breaks to children and their families aged 8 to 18 years of age. The service supports children and young people who have various disabilities, where they can come and stay and have fun while their families have a break.
This home runs term time after school clubs and has residential services that runs at weekends and during school holidays. Young people get the opportunity to relax, have trips out and learn new skills while they are with us. This is here the Residential Support Worker makes a difference.
How you'll help to create brighter futures
- Provide lead case/care planning management, including assessing, reviewing, and managing risk.
- Co-ordinating responsibilities within the service, with multi agency and producing family information, including analysis and written reports.
- Attendance at professional meetings including reviews, court work etc.
- Lead shifts with the primary aim of the provision of a high-quality service.
- Supervise and guide staff as required, in accordance with Action for Children policies and procedures.

Are you resilient and have a positive approach to change and challenge? We are looking for someone with a ‘can do' attitude to join our team. Ideally, you'll have:
- Experience of leading Shifts in a Care setting.
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or recognised equivalent).
- Experience and training in safeguarding.
- An innovative and creative approach to problem solving.
- Experience of developing tailored care plans.
- The ability to create a safe and fun environment for both staff and children in the home and in the community.
