Role: Residential Support Worker

Salary: Up to £28,000 per annum dependant on experience and qualifications.

Location: Minchinhampton, Gloucestershire.

Contract/Hours: Permanent, Full-time, or Part-time hrs available.

Our Residential Support Workers create a safe and supportive environment for children and young people to grow and develop. You will ensure their wellbeing is prioritised by delivering personalised care, guidance, and advocacy. It is key that they stay safe and healthy and can reach their full potential.

About the service 

Rowan Tree House is a Forever home in a beautiful setting in Gloucestershire, the home is for a young person with complex needs and a high level of challenging behaviour with a care ratio of 4:1.  

Rowan Tree House will provide the young person who lives there with a home for life. Giving the young person stability, consistency, and appropriate, care, and support, while supporting them to integrate into the community as much as possible and achieve supported independence as they transition into adulthood.

As a Residential support worker You will be working with a team of staff in supporting the young person with their day-to-day personal needs. Working with your team and the young person to assess individual needs to develop tailored care plans. You will help to maintain a safe and fun environment for both staff and the young person within the home and whilst out and about in the community. 

How you'll help to create brighter futures 

  • Provide lead case/care planning management, including assessing, reviewing, and managing risk.
  • Co-ordinating responsibilities within the service, with multi agency and producing family information, including analysis and written reports.
  • Attendance at professional meetings including reviews, court work etc. 
  • Lead shifts with the primary aim of the provision of a high-quality service.
  • Supervise and guide staff as required, in accordance with Action for Children policies and procedures.
  • Lead by example with the application of Action for Children's policy procedures and professional practice standards and in line with registration requirements 

Let's talk about you. 

  • Are you resilient and have a positive approach to change and challenge? We are looking for someone with a ‘can do' attitude to join our team. Ideally you will have:
  • Experience of leading Shifts in a Care setting
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or recognised equivalent).
  • Experience and training in safeguarding.
  • An innovative and creative approach to problem solving.
  • Experience of developing tailored care plans
  • The ability to create a safe and fun environment for both staff and children in the home and in the community.

Rowan Tree House is in Michinhampton, this is a small village on the outskirts of Gloucestershire, there is a Bus service running from Stroud along two main train stations Stroud and Stonehouse. We can offer free parking on site.
