Role: Registered Manager

Salary: Up to £49,400 per annum

Location: Kilburn, Derbyshire   

Contract/Hours: Permanent/Full Time - 37 hours per week

A bit about the role:

We're thrilled to offer a unique opportunity for a Registered Manager to lead the launch and management of a brand new children's home based in Kilburn. As the Registered Manager, you'll play a crucial role in the development process, ensuring a solid foundation and securing OFSTED registration. You'll build and lead a dedicated team who'll be committed to achieving the highest aspirations for our young people.

As the Registered Manager, your role involves overseeing the day-to-day operations of the children's home. You'll be responsible for ensuring smooth functioning and maintaining a positive environment for both staff and young people. Your leadership will inspire and motivate the team to hold high aspirations for the young people in your care. By fostering a supportive and encouraging atmosphere, you'll contribute to their growth and development.

The home's care model is innovative and therapeutic. It's been carefully designed to provide compassionate care to our children. As part of your responsibilities, you'll implement this model and continuously explore ways to enhance outcomes for young people.

How you'll help to create brighter futures 

Some key responsibilities of your role as a Registered Manager will be;

  • Establishing a new long stay children's home for children and young people with complex emotional needs including the recruitment and induction of a new staff team.
  • Providing high quality supportive 1:1 and reflective supervision to direct reports.
  • Promoting and delivering the highest standards of safeguarding practice utilising existing processes and best practice to create a safe positive work and service environment.
  • Developing and maintaining effective working relationships and maintain channels of communication with colleagues, community organisations, partner agencies and other external agencies.
  • Developing and maintaining effective networks, relationships, partnerships, and contacts to improve outcomes for children, young people and families.

 Let's talk about you 

Whilst a management qualification Level 5 would be great, we are open to those with experience in a management role within a residential/social care setting and we have a development programme to support your professional development.

  • Experience in Management of a large team working towards an outcome.
  • Creating an inclusive service, in terms of meeting the needs of the children and establishing a workforce that further enables an inclusive environment.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the OFSTED requirements.
  • Demonstrable experience of working with children/young people with complex needs, who exhibit challenging and behavioural difficulties.
  • Experience of leading by example with the application of safeguarding practices and policies.
