Chestnut Lodge is a short breaks and after school project in Chesterton, Newcastle Under Lyme, Staffordshire. Supporting children and young people aged from 8 to 18 years old with severe learning disabilities and complex needs to remain living with their families through providing overnight respite and short break care during weekends and school holidays. Do you like laughing out loud, having fun, helping others? If yes, then We Want You! We are a group of children and young people with complex disabilities aged between 8 and 18 years. We like to go to the Chestnut Lodge Youth Club. We can offer you lots of opportunities to do fun 'stuff' and will reward you with laughter and big smiles.
As a Young Person's worker, you'll be working from 4pm -7pm (Monday - Thursday) 12hours a week during term time only (39 weeks). The remaining .75 hour per week will be used for admin on a monthly basis.
You will make a difference by:
- Helping them in all aspects of their daily lives and supporting their health and happiness. This includes personal care, assisting and serving at meal times. - Assisting with medication administration.- Providing a safe environment where young people can enjoy time with their friends. - Working cohesively towards giving young people a positive future. You will need:
- Experience of working with children and young people. - Excellent communication skills.- The ability to use MS Office and have some IT skills.- A positive approach, providing a fun environment for all the children in our care. - The ability to think outside the box. - A level 3 diploma or NVQ in Health and Social Care is desirable not essential. - Get ready and let us help you to get qualified: We can help you achieve this qualification and must be completed within 18 months of joining our team.
