Location: High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire
Contract: Full time maternity cover for 12 months starting from June 2020
Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm with an element of flexibility required to work unsociable hours to meet the needs of the business
Salary: Circa £35,000 per annum + On Call allowance

Merryfields is a Registered Children's Home delivering short break services to 5 – 18 year olds who have learning and physical disabilities. This service provides a fun and stimulating environment, promoting positive peer relationships and independence skills.

How will you make a difference?

As Registered Manager, you will be responsible for supporting both the existing staff team and service users in the home by leading, inspiring and motivating each and every individual to achieve positive outcomes, you will also be maintaining a Good rating from OFSTED and working towards an Outstanding.

The main focus of this role is to take overall responsibility for the management of the home, this will be done by:

  • Supporting budget work
  • Adhering to safer recruitment, reflective and supportive supervisions.
  • Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with commissioners and other stakeholders
  • Performance monitoring staff and service
  • Promoting and maintaining the Action for Children's reputation and brand

What will you need:

To be considered for this role, you will need to demonstrate:

  • Level 5 NVQ in Leadership and Management + a Level 3 qualification in Childcare
  • Outstanding leadership qualities derived from excellent inter and intra – personal skills
  • Previous experience managing a children's home
  • Excellent understanding of Children Homes Regulations 2015
  • A positive and approachable manner
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding practices
