The IV30 Family Futures service is a person centred, needs led, holistic family support service for children, young people and families across Moray. The service has a range of services to meet the different needs of families.
This post is a for a Family Support Worker in our Creative Clubhouse Project which is an after-school activity club providing fun activities for primary school aged children. The project will operate evenings, weekends and school holiday periods as well as after school. Our spacious, well equipped premises at Winchester House in Elgin can offer a range of activities including: arts and crafts; music; games; books and more. As a Family Support Worker, you will work directly with children attending the project , undertaking activities and providing a safe space for them to relax and play.
You will make a difference by:.
Building positive and trusting relationships with children and parents.
-Working with the Family Support Practitioners to ensure the assessment for each child attending the service and prior to support commencing has identified any issues/barriers they may face and how we can support them. Maintain relevant risk assessments and paperwork required in relation to case files and support as required.
-Monitoring children's progress at set intervals and feeding back information to parents where required
-Working with the Family Support Practitioners to organise, devise and plan parenting and family support interventions and programmes content to support parents if required.
-Ensuring compliance with After School standards is maintained at all times
-Maintaining awareness of Health & Safety regulations at all times to ensure the safety and well being of children and colleagues.
-Completing all relevant paperwork, case notes and internal databases to set timescales
-Working with the Family Support Practitioners to organise, devise and plan activities for the children attending the project.
You will need:
-Experience of facilitating 1-1 and group sessions with children facing multiple barriers.
Have flexibility to working patterns including school holidays, evenings and weekends.
-Knowledge and understanding of the issues and barriers experienced by families.
-Experience of working with parents and an excellent understanding of issues/concerns affecting parents.
