Our family support service in the north-west of Glasgow seeks to work collaboratively with primary & Secondary schools and other agencies to design and deliver impactful services, activities and support to meet the needs of individual pupils and families within schools, at home, and the local community. To achieve this, we will work with schools and other agencies to understand their priorities and needs within their school, home and local community and put in place the right interventions that will make a real difference. This is a vital part of our work.
The successful candidate will work on a rolling year contract based in St Thomas Aquinas Secondary and will be responsible for coordinating and directing the support to children, young people and families by agreeing and providing interventions, which may be specialised, enabling positive and agreed outcomes to be achieved, in accordance with organisational policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
You will make a difference by:- Providing a high-quality service to children, young people and their families, based on an assessment of need and is outcomes driven.
- Delivering a complex and specialist interventions with children, young people or families on a 1:1 basis, group or community setting.
- Providing lead case/care planning management, including undertaking assessing, reviewing and managing risks.
- Attending and participating at relevant multi agency meetings, providing a lead role ensuring reflective and analytical practice review.
- Working with parents/carers on priority areas e.g. boundaries, routines, neglect, engaging with school (attending meetings, parent's evenings etc).
- Being responsible for day to day resource planning to ensure high quality services are delivered.
You will need:- HNC in Social Care or equivalent SVQ level 3 Health & Social Care.
- Up to date knowledge and application of safeguarding principles.
- Experience of working directly with children and families, either individually or in a group setting.
- Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
- The ability to maintain written records to a high standard.
- The ability to coordinate referral, assessment and support planning.
