Action for Children

Circa Salary: £20,300 per annum

Contract/Hours: Permanent, Full-Time, 37 hours a week Sunday to Thursday 8.45 - 17.15 hrs, with one evening youth club

Location: Aylesbury

About the Role: 

Do you have experience in working with children and young people in a nursery, pre-school, playgroup, breakfast/after school club, school, youth club or holiday club?

We are looking for an enthusiastic Children's Services Worker who is looking to further their career working with disabled children to support them to take part in activities and support their learning and emotional needs.

Bucks Activity Project is commissioned by the local authority to deliver community short breaks to children and young people with disabilities and additional learning needs aged 0-19 years across Buckinghamshire.

As a Children's Services Worker, you'll be: 

-Providing a high standard of physical, social and emotional care working as part of team, providing an enabling environment and building strong parent partnerships

-Keeping records of children's development

-Ensuring the provision of high quality environments that meet the needs and interests of individual children having an awareness of disabilities, family cultures and medical histories.

-Carrying out personal care and administering medication (training will be provided)

What You'll Bring: 

-Level 2 or above in a relevant Childcare,  Youth or Education qualification or willing to study for one funded by Action for Children

-Knowledge of disabilities/additional needs

-A positive attitude and desire to give the best care to children and young people

-Good communication and interpersonal skills

-Good observational skills

-Own transport and willingness to travel to local services and group activities across Buckinghamshire

-Ability to attend occasional training, potentially out of work hours 

-The desire to have fun whilst taking part in activities with the children and young people.
